2020 is the 12th year of the Lara Food and Wine Festival. The festival is normally held on the fourth Sunday in March an in 2020 will be on the 22nd of March.
The festival began in 2009 bringing to fruition an idea from the Lara Chamber of Commerce for an event to showcase the food, wine and produce of the Lara District.
It now has exhibitors from across the state, features cooking demonstrations and competitions, competitions including preserves and Instagram, musical entertainment, free activities for children.
It has become a popular family event with a focus on food wine and entertainment.
Car parking is free, we have introduced a $5 per adult charge with children 17 and under accompanied by an adult free.
We have the support of various community groups and individuals who assist with car parking, waste management, set up and pack up, gate management, managing the activities for children- it is an event put on by the Lara Community.
It is a great day out for Lara, Greater Geelong and beyond.
