The Lara Cricket Club was formed approximately in 1875 making it one of the oldest clubs in the Geelong area. The Lara Cricket club along with the Lara Football joined and formed the Lara Sporting Club in 1975.

Our seniors play in the Geelong Cricket Association Division 1 competition and have 6 senior cricket teams 2 playing turf, 2 hard wickets and 2 40 over sides. The club also competes in the Geelong Junior Cricket Association and has teams playing in the U17, U15, U13 (both Friday and Saturday) and U11 (Friday nights only). The club also runs a successful In-2-Cricket and T20 Blast programs on a Friday night.

This season the GCA and GJCA are introducing female cricket and Lara will be fielding teams in all grades.

Lara Cricket has won over 30 senior and more than 25 junior premierships with our most recent being in the 2016/17 season in our senior 5th eleven team.
Like all sports club Lara cricket is always looking for new players at both senior and junior level.
